Maggie Swofford is a queer poet, writer, and artist from Boston, MA.

She is passionate about creating new perspectives on faith and queerness through her work across mediums. She writes poetry that strives to explore the beauty and fluidity of the modern self via imagistic language and metaphors. In her artwork, she draws from her adoration of outer space, fashion, and color to create dynamic images that illustrate the collisions of self-actualization.

She is the winner of Serpentine's "I'm Speaking" Poetry Contest, and has been published in Agapanthus CollectiveThe CuratorEkstasisEntropyErraticusFathom, Flora Fiction Literary Magazine, MazingPenmen ReviewSecond Chance Lit, Serpentine, and Thimble Literary Magazine.

Maggie is a poetry editor for Vita Poetica, a journal committed to publishing art and writing from "diverse backgrounds, life stages, art disciplines, and spiritual traditions." She also was a Glen Fellow for Image Journal's 2021 Glen Workshop. Maggie wrote a spoken word poem, "When We Reach the Edge," for Gordon College's 2021 Day of Giving, and the introduction to Gordon College's 100 Years of Athletics video.

Maggie worked in book publishing for over 7 years at Hendrickson Publishing Group and then Tyndale House Publishers as a marketing manager. Currently, she is a Loyalty Marketing Manager at a travel company in Cambridge, MA.

In her free time, Maggie is an avid admirer of Georgia O’Keeffe, Mary Oliver, Elizabeth Goudge, NASA, and the ocean, but, for the most part, her obsessions vary on the day.
